LISTEN TO THIS SONG

Ezekiel was excitedly and nervously preparing for his wedding to his future wife Janella, which was three days away. He’d been busy juggling work, setting up the condo, and also taking care of their thirteen-year-old dog Samson when he got a surprise email from his CEO: He was one of the many employees being let go from the company.

But since Ezekiel followed the Lord Jesus Christ, he didn’t feel saddened or shocked at the situation. Instead of wallowing in the earthly disappointment, he refocused on how this “bad” turnout was actually a divine direction:

● His current “joblessness” meant he had more time to finalize everything needed for the wedding.

● He had more time to file their signed marriage license after the wedding without having to worry about juggling home and office tasks.

● He could also fully devote his energy to helping his wife Janella adjust to living with him and doing the housework.

● Best of all, he had more time to seek the Lord regarding His plans for their family, since he was starting from scratch.

Just like Ezekiel, you can see earthly disappointments as divine directions when you repent from your sinfulness and have faith in the Lord.

Dear Jesus, thank You for redirecting me to You in my setbacks. I acknowledge I am a sinner who needs to turn away from my sinful ways, and put my faith in You as my Lord and Savior. Please let me see earthly disappointments as Your divine directions so I can live my life glorifying only You.

What are some of the setbacks you’ve experienced lately? Look at them from God’s perspective to see how He has redirected you to His will.
